Tammy's project

Tammy Izhaki and friends at Between Heaven and Earth invite you to experience a world in which words and movement can meet.

We chose two of our greatest loves, study and dance, and brought them together. We invited men and women from various sectors and Disciplines, people of the book and people of the stage, people of thought and people of action, to create a new space in the world of Israeli culture and contemporary Judaism  that connects communities, knowledge, and art. We are all part of an evolving cultural reality that is beginning to embrace these new combinations.

We developed a unique method that turns the studio and stage into a contemporary Beit Midrash for dance and texts, providing a place for the body to say what words cannot (and vice versa).
We promote a freestyle and even wild use of different movement languages and of source texts from Israel and all over the world. We seek out new combinations, add head and toe to the mix, and then refine it all into a simple work of art and truth .

You are welcome to join us for a workshop in the studio, a performance on stage, and around the table for a study session. There are a wide variety of events, performances, workshops and theater/lecture combos.
